Green Crafts

Have you noticed that marthastewart.com has a new section called Whole Living? It's your online connection to Body+Soul magazine...whose May issue will be out April 21st.

So to celebrate Whole Living's very eco-friendly vibe, Martha has really been "greening" up her Crafts of the Day for this week...

*Instead of throwing out all of that unused wallpaper from your latest bathroom makeover, use it instead to make adorable greeting cards!

*Did your best serving platter not make it through last Thanksgiving thanks to your butter-fingers husband? No worries...just glue it back together, add a mirror, and wha-la! You've got yourself brand "new" wall decor!

*Paper or Plastic? Both still end up in the trash at the end of the day...so make a greener choice and bring your own! And even better...MAKE your own out of a t-shirt that never leaves the bottom of your drawer.

*Don't buy new birdbaths when you can use old washbasins found at your local flea market! Your friendly neighborhood birds will thank you for their new watering hole...

It's only Thursday, so make sure to check out the rest of the crafts this week for more options for Green Living.

I, myself, have been trying really hard to make small changes in my life to help our planet, like taking my own fabric bag when I go shopping so that I won't use their plastic and paper ones, and using cloth napkins instead of paper towels at every meal. It's a little more laundry, but it's worth it in the end.

What do you plan to do to help save our planet and our future?
