MSLO CEO Steps Down

Martha’s in the business headlines today as Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia CEO Susan Lyne has stepped down from her post.

This article from Gawker speculates that this move comes as a result of the company’s slumping stock price, which in turn is a result of the dying print media industry.

What do you think? It’s true that print journalism is not exactly booming. Will hard-copy magazines like “Martha Stewart Living” and “Everyday Food” someday be obsolete?

It's sad to read about a "dying print media." Whether it's a magazine or a book, nothing gives you the same feeling as curling up for a good read. I'm still in it for the long haul.

I certainly hope not, but let's face it, that's not enough to make it not so. Although, in an economy where Magazines might be too much of a luxury, I wonder if things would look differently when things pick back up?

I hope not - I love having the gard copy of my MSL magazines. Print media is what gets me through long walks on a treadmill in the winter!

I hope not. I love sitting down with a magazine and thumbing through the pages ... I don't want everything to be electronic.
